Spring Snow Goose Hunting in NW Missouri

Mound City, Missouri

Northwest Missouri has always been one of the best hot spots for staging and migrating snow geese every spring.  That makes this one of THE destinations for spring snow goose hunting in Missouri.

We are located near the town of Mound City, MO. Mound City is the home of Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge (recently renamed, "Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge") as well as 2 very large well-managed conservation areas. It is not uncommon for there to be excess of a million snow geese there at any given time. The refuge is surrounded by endless corn fields providing hunters opportunities to decoy.

For these spring snow goose hunts, we typically hunt in the morning, break for lunch, then go back out in the evening.

There are certain days that it pays to sit all day but in general it is more of a morning and evening hunt as the birds come off of the refuge to feed.

We play the weather and the migration as each day is different.
